Diesel Turbo Boost Pressure Sensor for Toyota Engines

This boost/MAP sensor reads the air pressure in the intake manifold of turbo diesel motors. The engine ECU uses this signal to control fueling, vane position, and EGR, keeping the turbocharger in the sweet spot for power, economy, and clean emissions .

Why this part is needed

Accurate boost data prevents over‑boost and under‑boost, stabilizes idle, improves throttle response, and protects the turbo. It is essential for towing, city traffic, and highway cruising.

How it works

Inside is a silicon diaphragm that senses absolute pressure. The sensor outputs a precise 0.5–4.5 V signal to the ECU, which blends it with RPM and intake air temp to set fuel and boost targets. A sealed port reads manifold pressure; a robust connector ensures noise‑free data .

What happens if it’s faulty

Expect low power, limp mode, black smoke, high fuel use, harsh shifts, unstable idle, or delayed turbo spool. Common fault codes: P0236/P0237/P0238. Prolonged errors can stress the turbo and DPF.

Tech notes ✅

Install with a clean port and new O‑ring; torque 8–10 N·m. Do not use sealant. Check hoses for oil sludge and cracks. After fitting, clear codes and road‑test boost. Never spray with brake cleaner—use electronics-safe cleaner.
