Why you need it

Clear rear vision is safety critical. A healthy side mirror actuator lets you set the glass angle fast for lane changes, towing, and tight parking. If the mirror won’t aim accurately, you risk blind spots and driver fatigue.

How it works

A compact DC motor drives a worm-and-gear set that tilts a carrier plate on a central pivot. Two channels control up/down and left/right. Low-backlash gears hold position, while sealed connectors and reinforced mounts resist moisture, dust, and vibration.

What happens if it’s broken

Glass won’t move or only moves one way, jitters, clicks, or drifts back. The switch may feel fine but nothing happens. You’ll get poor visibility, unstable mirror aim on rough roads, and possible electrical overloads if the motor stalls.

Plug-and-play. Warm and carefully unclip the mirror glass, unplug heater leads, swap the actuator, and refit. Cycle full travel to seat the mechanism. No coding required.
