Steering Relay Rod (Center Link) for precise control ?
This heavy‑duty linkage sits across the front axle and ties the drag link to both tie rods, keeping left and right wheels in sync. Built to handle bus loads and rough roads, it uses forged ends, hardened ball studs, and serviceable grease points for long, quiet life.
Why you need it ?
It stabilizes the steering system, holds toe under braking and cornering, and transfers your steering box input evenly to each wheel. A tight relay rod gives straight tracking, sharp response, and even tire wear.
How it works ⚙️
When you turn the wheel, the pitman arm moves the drag link. That motion rotates the relay rod like a lever. The rod then pushes and pulls both tie rods so each wheel changes angle together. Sealed boots keep grit out, grease in, and maintain smooth movement.
What if it breaks ⚠️
Wear shows as steering play, wander, shimmy, clunks over bumps, and off‑center wheel. Tires may feather and braking stability drops. If a joint separates, steering control can be lost. Replace at the first sign of looseness and align wheels after install.
Fitment tips ?️
Use new nuts and cotter pins, torque to spec, grease at service intervals, and inspect boots. An alignment is required after replacement.
