How it works

Press the pedal, the master cylinder builds fluid pressure. That pressure moves the piston in the release unit. The integrated bearing glides against the diaphragm spring, lifting the pressure plate off the disc. With the disc free, gears mesh smoothly. Precision bore, return spring, and guide surfaces keep the motion linear and quiet.

What happens if it’s broken ⚠️

Leaking seals cause a soft or sinking pedal, hard first/reverse, and gear crunch. A noisy bearing chirps when the pedal is pressed and can score the pressure plate. Severe failure can stop disengagement and leave the car immobile. Fluid leaks may contaminate the clutch lining, leading to slip. Replace at first signs of wet housing, air in the system, or metallic growl; bleed the system and inspect master and lines during service.
