This cooling drive unit keeps your engine at the right temperature in city traffic, towing, and off‑road. It engages the radiator fan when hot and freewheels when cool, cutting noise, saving fuel, and shielding the engine from overheating ️.
Why this part is needed
Stable coolant temperature means consistent power, long gasket life, and healthy automatic transmission and A/C. A precise fan clutch prevents overcooling at speed and ramps airflow at idle.
How it works
Inside is silicone fluid and a thermal bimetal coil. As radiator air heats the coil, fluid shear increases and the fan “locks up,” boosting airflow. When temps drop, it slips, reducing drag and noise ❄️.
What happens if it fails
