Engine Coolant Pump for Subaru Legacy

This high-duty coolant pump keeps your boxer engine at the right temperature. It circulates antifreeze through the block, heads, and radiator so combustion heat is carried away. Built for tight clearances and steady flow, it prevents hotspots, pinging, and oil breakdownβ€”key for long engine life and reliable power. ❄️

Why this part is needed

Without steady coolant flow, temperatures spike. A healthy pump stabilizes warm-up, supports cabin heat, and protects gaskets, bearings, and the head gasket under load or traffic.

How it works

A belt drives the impeller inside a sealed housing. As the impeller spins, it creates low pressure at the inlet and pushes coolant through the engine and radiator, repeating thousands of times per minute. Quality bearings and a mechanical seal keep it quiet and leak-free.

What happens if it fails ⚠️

Overheating, steam, sweet smell, low coolant, noisy bearing, or wobbling pulley. Running hot can warp heads, cook oil, and strand you. Replace at the first signs of leaks or noise.

Pro tip βœ…

Flush coolant, install a new gasket/O-ring, torque evenly, and bleed air. Check belt condition and tension.
