Rubber Suspension Bushing

This rubber bushing is a small part with a big job: it isolates metal-to-metal contact in the suspension and keeps the ride tight, quiet, and controlled ?️. It’s needed wherever a control arm, subframe, or link pivots, because the joint must move smoothly while still staying firmly located.

How It Works

The bushing sits between the mounting bolt/sleeve and the suspension bracket. Its rubber body flexes to absorb road shock, vibration, and twisting loads, while the inner sleeve holds torque without crushing the rubber. This balance helps maintain wheel alignment, steering feel, and braking stability.

What Happens If It’s Worn or Broken

When the rubber cracks, separates, or softens, the joint starts to shift. You may notice clunks over bumps, wandering steering, uneven tire wear, and a β€œloose” feeling during acceleration or braking. Left too long, it can stress nearby parts and throw off alignment, costing more in tires and labor ?⚠️.
