Front Brake Pad Retaining Pin for Mitsubishi ?️

This small but critical brake hardware pin keeps the front brake pads correctly located inside the caliper bracket. Even though it looks simple, it plays a big role in safe, quiet braking and consistent pad wear.

Why this part is needed βœ…

During braking, pads are pushed hard against the disc and try to shift, vibrate, and tilt. The retaining pin locks the pad position and guides its movement so the pads slide smoothly and return properly after you release the pedal.

How it works βš™οΈ

The pin passes through the caliper/pad hardware and acts as a secure guide. It keeps the pads aligned, reduces chatter, and helps the anti-rattle system do its job. With good pins, the brakes feel stable and the pads wear evenly.

What happens if it’s worn or broken ?

A damaged pin can cause pad rattle, clicking noises, uneven pad wear, dragging brakes, or poor braking feel. In severe cases the pad may shift out of position, damaging the rotor and increasing stopping distance.
