Information

Exhaust Outlet Gasket for Automatic Transmission Torque Converter ?️

This sealing gasket sits at the torque converter exhaust/outlet joint and is vital for keeping the system gas-tight and pressure-stable. It prevents hot exhaust flow and fumes from escaping where two metal flanges meet, even when parts expand and contract with heat. A good seal also helps reduce noise and keeps nearby components protected from heat blow-by.

Why this gasket is needed βœ…

Metal-to-metal joints are never perfectly flat. This gasket fills tiny surface gaps, allowing the outlet connection to stay sealed under vibration, engine load, and high temperature cycles.

How it works ?

When the bolts are tightened, the gasket compresses evenly and forms a tight barrier. It absorbs minor flange movement, keeping exhaust pressure and flow directed through the correct path instead of leaking outside.

What happens if it’s damaged ⚠️

A blown or hardened gasket can cause ticking/raspy exhaust noise, exhaust smell in the cabin, reduced efficiency, and soot marks around the joint. Long-term leaks may overheat nearby parts, trigger sensor-related faults, and accelerate corrosion on the flange faces.
