This replacement parking brake cable is the link between your handbrake lever/pedal and the rear brake mechanism. It is needed to keep the vehicle securely parked on slopes, during loading, or when stopping briefly without relying only on the transmission.
How It Works ⚙️
When you pull the handbrake, the inner steel wire slides inside a protective outer sheath and pulls the rear brake lever. This action expands the brake shoes (or actuates the rear caliper mechanism on some setups) to clamp and hold the wheels.
