Why this part is needed βοΈ
This precision sleeve sits on the driveline gear stack inside the transmission and keeps the driven gear aligned at the correct distance. It prevents side-load on the gear teeth and supports smooth power transfer from the input to the output section. Correct spacing means quieter operation, cleaner shifts, and longer bearing life.
How it works ?
The sleeve acts like a hardened spacer and guide. It slides over the shaft and provides an exact seating surface for the gear and its bearing/washer set. By controlling end play, it helps the gear mesh stay true under acceleration and engine braking. The smooth surface also reduces friction and heat where rotating parts meet.
What happens if itβs worn or broken ?
A damaged sleeve can cause gear misalignment, whining noises, vibration, and metal shavings in the oil. You may feel harsh shifting, slipping, or a sudden loss of drive.
