Rear Crankshaft Oil Seal for Mitsubishi Micro and Mini Platforms

This precision rear crank seal keeps engine oil where it belongs — inside the block. Sitting behind the flywheel/flexplate, it locks in lubrication at the back of the crankshaft, protecting bearings, clutch components, and the bellhousing from messy leaks. Built with heat‑resistant elastomer, a steel case, and a tension spring, it’s engineered for long service in tight engine bays and stop‑go city driving .

Why your engine needs it

Without a healthy seal, oil pressure drops, oil reaches the clutch or converter, and dust and grit can track inward. Clean sealing preserves oil film on the crank journals and keeps drivability smooth and efficient.

How it works

A spring‑loaded lip hugs the crank hub while micro‑grooves pump oil back toward the engine during rotation. The outer shell presses into the rear main carrier for a rigid, leak‑free fit. Lightly oil the lip, align square, and use an install sleeve to avoid cutting the edge.

What happens if it fails

Oil drip at the bellhousing, burning smell, slipping clutch, stained undertray, and rising consumption. Long term, bearings starve, seals downstream gum up, and emissions components suffer.

Tech tips ✅

  • Replace during clutch or gearbox work.
  • Check crank surface and PCV; fix venting to prevent repeat leaks.
  • Torque retainer evenly; keep mating faces clean.
