    Engine Coolant Thermostat — ref. MD315301

    This precision coolant valve keeps your Mitsubishi engine in the sweet spot fast and holds it there mile after mile. It helps the motor warm up quickly, stabilizes temperature under load, and boosts heater performance in winter ❄️. Correct temperature means better fuel economy, lower emissions, and longer engine life.

    How it works ️

    Inside is a wax pellet capsule. When coolant heats up to the calibrated point, the wax expands and pushes the valve open, sending flow to the radiator. When coolant cools, the valve shuts, keeping heat in the block. The unit also supports bypass flow so cylinders avoid hotspots during warm‑up.

    If it fails

    - Stuck closed: rapid overheating, boiling, head gasket risk, weak radiator circulation.
    - Stuck open: slow warm‑up, high fuel use, poor cabin heat, carbon build‑up, ECU rich mixture.

    Tech notes

    Always install with a fresh seal, correct jiggle‑pin position, and clean housing. Refill with proper coolant mix and bleed air. Replace if corrosion, sluggish opening, or code P0128 appears.
