How it works ⚙️
When the manifold is bolted down, the gasket compresses and fills tiny surface imperfections on both sides. This creates a tight barrier against heat, vibration, and pressure changes during driving.
What happens if it’s damaged ?
A cracked or flattened gasket can cause vacuum leaks, rough idle, hesitation, higher fuel use, lean fault codes, and sometimes a whistling sound. In severe cases, the engine may run hot or misfire, risking long-term valve and catalyst damage.
