Front Wheel Cylinder Seal & Dust Boot Kit

Keep your front drum brakes tight, dry, and responsive with this seal-and-boot service kit for Mitsubishi applications. It refreshes the wheel cylinder with new rubber piston cups and protective dust bellows, restoring safe, consistent braking .

Why this part is needed

  • Stops internal fluid leaks and pedal fade ️
  • Prevents dirt, water, and road salt from entering the cylinder
  • Extends wheel cylinder and brake shoe life
  • Cost‑effective alternative to full cylinder replacement

How it works

The rubber cups seal the piston to the cylinder bore. When you press the pedal, hydraulic pressure spreads the cup lips, pushing pistons outward to apply the shoes. The outer boots cover the piston ends, blocking dust and splash. After release, spring force returns the pistons; the cups maintain a micro-seal to keep fluid in place.

What happens if it’s worn or broken ⚠️

  • Spongy or sinking pedal due to fluid bypass
  • Wet backing plate, low fluid level, brake warning light
  • Pulling to one side, uneven shoe wear, longer stopping distance
  • Contaminated linings, overheated drums, test/MOT failure

Fitting tips from a tech

Renew both front sides together. Clean the bore; lightly hone if glazed. Lubricate cups with fresh DOT 3/4 brake fluid onlyβ€”no petroleum grease. Seat boots fully. Bleed the circuit, then check for leaks and firm pedal. Road test and recheck after 50–100 km.
