This precision oil seal is a small but critical barrier that keeps engine oil exactly where it belongs. It is commonly used around rotating shafts, where heat, pressure, and constant movement try to push oil out. A fresh seal helps maintain clean lubrication, stable oil level, and a dry engine exterior.
Why this seal is needed
When a shaft spins, oil can travel along the surface and escape. This seal closes that gap, preventing leaks that can dirty the engine bay, soften rubber mounts, and reduce lubrication quality over time.
How it works
The flexible sealing lip rides on the rotating shaft with light spring tension. The outer ring locks into the housing, while the lip creates a controlled contact line that blocks oil but still allows smooth rotation. The result: reliable sealing without excessive drag.
What happens if it’s worn or broken
Typical symptoms include oil seepage, wet buildup around the housing, burning-oil smell on hot parts, and gradual oil loss. If ignored, low oil level may cause noisy operation, faster bearing wear, and costly internal damage.
