Transmission axle oil seal 35Γ50Γ8 for Honda driveline οΈ
This seal keeps gearbox or differential oil inside and dirt outside. It sits where the drive shaft/output shaft exits the housing, locking fluid behind a tight rubber lip so your Honda transmission runs cool, clean, and quiet. Without it, lubricants escape and contaminants invadeβtwo fast paths to costly wear.
How it works οΈ
A steel-cased ring with an elastomer lip (often with a garter spring) presses into a 50 mm bore and rides lightly on a 35 mm shaft. A micro oil film under the lip provides lubrication while the spring maintains uniform contact as parts expand and rotate. At 8 mm thick, it fits standard Honda housings and resists heat, ATF/gear oil, and road splash.

Youβll notice wetness around the shaft, drops on the subframe, burning oil smell on exhaust, gear whine, shudder, or harsh shifts (low ATF). Prolonged leaks starve bearings and gears, leading to differential noise, output bearing play, and even transmission failure. Grease contamination can also shorten CV joint life.
Tech tips for a lasting repair
Inspect and polish the shaft contact area, clean the bore, and install square with a driver. Lightly oil the lip; orient the spring toward the oil side. Replace both sides if one is leaking, verify breather isnβt clogged, and set axle properly to avoid nicking the lip. Choose OE-grade rubber for heat and chemical resistance.
