How it works
A double-row ball or angular-contact bearing sits in the hub. The inner race turns with the axle shaft, while the outer race stays fixed in the hub. It carries both radial and axial loads from bumps, cornering, and braking. Sealed construction holds lubricant in and keeps water and dust out for long life.
Why you need it
Use this part when you hear humming or growling that rises with speed, feel play in the wheel, notice brake pulsation, uneven tire wear, or see an ABS light. Replacing both sides in pairs is often recommended for even performance.
If it fails
Expect noise, vibration, steering wander, longer stopping distance, and possible ABS faults. Driving too long can damage the hub, knuckle, and CV jointβand in extreme cases risk wheel lock or separation.
