Front Hub Inner Oil Seal RH/LH for Toyota 4x4

Keep your front axle hub dry inside and clean outside with this precision inner oil seal ️. It retains lubricant where it belongs and blocks water, sand, and mud from entering the hub. That protection is vital for wheel bearings, axle splines, and the locking hub—especially on heavy-duty, off‑road vehicles.

Why this part is needed

A healthy seal preserves bearing life, maintains smooth 4WD engagement, and prevents leaks that can reach brakes. It saves you from costly bearing and knuckle repairs and keeps steering feel tight and confident.

How it works

The seal is press-fitted into the hub/knuckle and the spring‑loaded elastomer lip rides on the spindle/axle surface. As the wheel rotates, the lip maintains even pressure to retain grease or oil while a dust lip deflects debris. Correct orientation matters—the lip faces the lubricant—and a light film of grease on the lip prevents dry start .

What happens if it fails

Expect oily streaks at the inner hub, drips near the backing plate, humming or growling bearings, uneven hub temperature, and possible brake contamination. Left unchecked, bearing play increases, ABS tone ring can foul, and differential fluid loss may occur.

Pro install tips

  • Inspect and polish the spindle surface; no grooves or rust.
  • Drive the seal square with a proper driver; do not over-seat.
  • Torque hub fasteners to spec, repack bearings, verify preload.
