Front Differential Carrier Oil Seal for Toyota 4x4 Driveline ️

Why you need it

This Toyota front differential oil seal keeps GL‑5 lube in and mud, water, and dust out. It protects ring and pinion, carrier bearings, and the CV stub. Great for daily, tow, and off‑road; a tight seal keeps the driveline quiet and reliable. Proper sealing prevents premature wear and costly rebuilds.

How it works

This axle seal uses a spring‑loaded elastomer lip that hugs the axle or pinion journal, while the outer shell locks into the carrier bore. A secondary dust lip blocks grit. With a light oil film, the lip rides on a micro layer, sealing under heat, splash, and high RPM. The result is stable oil control during 2WD and 4WD use.

What happens if it fails

When it fails you’ll see wetness at the carrier, drips on the skid plate, or oil‑soaked brakes . Low level brings whine on accel, growl on coast, ABS fouling, and, if ignored, blue, pitted gears and seized bearings ⚠️. Leaks also attract dirt, accelerating seal and journal wear.

Tech notes and install tips

Replace whenever a CV is removed or gears serviced. Clean the bore, check the vent, polish the journal. Install square with a driver. Pre‑lube with 75W‑90, seat to spec, refill, road‑test, then recheck ✅. A clean surface and correct depth are key to long, leak‑free service.
