Front Crankshaft Oil Seal for Isuzu Engines
Keep engine oil where it belongs and grit where it doesnβt. This front main seal sits at the nose of the crankshaft, behind the pulley and timing cover. Built to OEM geometry, it protects your Isuzu powerplant from leaks, dirt, and premature wear.
Why you need it οΈ
The seal keeps pressurized oil inside the block and away from the timing belt/chain. It preserves oil level, guards bearings, and prevents messy drips on the driveway. Clean sealing also helps the alternator and belts last longer.
How it works βοΈ
A precision elastomer or PTFE lip hugs the polished crank journal. A garter spring maintains constant radial load as RPM rises. Micro spiral ribs return oil inward, while a secondary dust lip blocks road debris. The metal shell press-fits squarely in the housing to hold alignment under heat.
When it fails β
Signs include oil mist around the crank pulley, fresh oil at the lower timing cover, belt slippage, burning-oil smell, and low oil level. Left unchecked, it can foul the timing belt, cause bearing wear, or even lead to engine damage.
Materials and fitment
High-temp NBR or fluoroelastomer with corrosion-resistant shell. Match size to your engine code; measure bore, OD, and width for perfect fit.
Install tips
Clean and inspect the crank snout; remove grooves or rust. Drive the seal square using a proper tool. Lightly oil NBR lips; install PTFE lips dry. Do not nick the lip on keyways. Torque the pulley bolt to spec and verify no wobble.
