Front Left Wheel Speed Sensor
This sensor is a key input for the ABS and stability systems on your Toyota. It reads how fast the front left wheel is turning and sends a clean signal to the ECU, helping the car brake straight, control wheel slip, and keep traction on wet or loose roads ?βοΈ.
Why this part is needed
Modern braking and traction control depend on accurate wheel-speed data. When one wheel slows or accelerates differently, the system can quickly react to prevent lock-up or skids.
How it works
The sensor sits near a tone ring/encoder on the hub. As the wheel rotates, it detects passing teeth or magnetic changes and creates a pulse signal. The ECU compares all wheels and commands ABS valves and stability control when needed.
What happens if itβs broken
When the signal drops out or becomes noisy, you may get ABS/VSC lights, lost anti-lock function, longer stopping distance on slippery surfaces, and erratic traction control. In some cases, the speedometer or cruise control may act abnormal.
