Information

Front Wheel Speed Sensor for Toyota 4x4

This front speed sensing unit is a must-have for stable braking and safe traction control. It reads the wheel rotation on the front axle and sends a clean signal to the ABS/traction ECU. The computer then adjusts brake pressure and helps prevent wheel lock-up on wet roads, gravel, or during hard stops.

Why this part is needed

Modern Toyota 4WD systems rely on accurate wheel speed data to keep ABS, VSC, and traction control working correctly. A strong signal keeps braking smooth and helps the vehicle track straight when conditions change suddenly.

How it works

The sensor tip monitors the tone ring (reluctor) as it spins. Each passing tooth creates a pulse. The ECU counts these pulses to calculate wheel speed in real time, then corrects braking and stability responses instantly βš™οΈ.

What happens if it fails

When the sensor is damaged, dirty, or wiring is cracked, you may see ABS/VSC lights, lose traction control, get erratic ABS activation, or experience longer stopping distances. Ignoring it can stress the brake system and reduce safety .
