    Evaporator Temperature Switch – Stable A/C Cooling ❄️

    OEM-grade replacement sensor that monitors evaporator fin temperature so your cabin stays cold without icing. Engineered with the correct connector and resistance curve for Toyota climate systems, it restores precise cooling control and long compressor life.

    Why you need it

    This sensor prevents ice build-up on the evaporator, protects the compressor from overwork, keeps airflow strong, and maintains steady comfort. In hybrids and EVs it also helps the system save energy by avoiding unnecessary cooling cycles.

    How it works

    An NTC thermistor reads the evaporator core temperature inside the HVAC unit. The A/C amplifier or ECU interprets the signal and cycles/modulates the compressor when the fins approach freezing (around 1–3°C). Once the core warms, cooling resumes. This loop stops frost, stabilizes vent temperature, and cuts load on the drivetrain.

    If it fails ⚠️

    Expect warm air, random cold/hot bursts, weak airflow after a few minutes (icing), a compressor that never engages or never stops, wet or foggy vents, and stored climate fault codes. Driving with a bad sensor can stress the compressor and flood the case with condensate.

    Install tips

    Usually mounted on or inside the evaporator housing/line. Disconnect battery, remove glovebox/trim, swap the sensor, ensure the seal seats fully, clear codes, and run HVAC self-learn. Quick, clean, no sealant needed.
