    HVAC Evaporator Temperature Sensor for Toyota A/C ❄️

    This small thermistor monitors the evaporator core temperature and keeps the air-conditioning sweet spot: cold air without icing. It’s essential for steady cabin comfort, compressor protection, and fuel-efficient cooling. Built to OE specs, it plugs into the existing harness and reads temperature with precise, fast response.

    Why you need it

    Without a correct temp signal, the A/C can overcool and freeze the evaporator, or undercool and blow warm air. This sensor helps the A/C amplifier cycle the compressor correctly, extending component life and reducing load on the engine.

    How it works

    It’s an NTC (negative temperature coefficient) thermistor. As the evaporator gets colder, its resistance rises. The A/C control unit interprets this signal and switches the compressor clutch and fans to maintain the target temperature and avoid ice-up.

    If it fails ⚠️

    Expect poor cooling, evaporator icing with weak airflow, short cycling, or no A/C at all. You may see erratic temps, foggy vents, or diagnostic codes from the A/C amplifier.
