Headlamp Washer Motor & Pump Assembly
This unit is a compact electric motor-driven pump that pushes washer fluid to the headlamp nozzles. It’s needed on vehicles with headlamp cleaning systems to keep lenses clear from mud, salt, and road film—especially in bad weather and off-road use. Clean lamps mean better beam pattern, safer night driving, and fewer “dim light” complaints.
How It Works ⚙️
When the washer switch is activated, the motor spins an impeller inside the pump housing. The pump creates pressure and sends fluid through the hose lines to the sprayers. A good assembly keeps steady flow and correct pressure so the jets hit the lens, not the bumper.
What Happens If It Fails ❗
A weak or dead unit can cause no spray, slow spray, or intermittent operation. You may hear the washer command but get no fluid at the headlights, or the pump may leak and drain the reservoir. If ignored, dirty lenses reduce visibility, and a leaking pump can short connectors or damage nearby wiring.
