🚗 Front Door Courtesy Light Switch
This small door-activated switch is an important part of the cabin electrical system. It tells the vehicle when the front door is open or closed, so the interior lamp, warning buzzer, security system, and door indicator can work correctly. A good switch helps the driver see the cabin at night and prevents the battery from draining due to false door signals.
⚙️ How It Works
The switch is mounted in the front door area and is pressed when the door closes. When the door opens, the spring-loaded contact changes position and sends a signal to the body control circuit. This simple action turns the courtesy lamp on, activates the door-open warning, and supports alarm or key reminder functions, depending on the vehicle equipment.
🔧 Signs of a Faulty Switch
If this part fails, the cabin lamp may stay on, not turn on at all, or flicker while driving. The dashboard may show a door-open warning even when the door is shut.
