OEM-grade reverse light switch for Toyota drivetrains
This direct-fit component restores the signal that turns on your rear lamps when you select reverse. Itβs essential for safe backing, camera activation, and alerting others in dark lots or tight alleys .
How it works
Mounted in the transmission case, a spring-loaded plunger rides on the selector rail. When reverse is engaged, the plunger closes an internal contact, sending 12V to the backup light circuit or BCM. A sealed body, heat-stable plastics, and tinned terminals keep the signal clean and reliable.
Why you need it
Worn contacts, oil intrusion, or a cracked connector cause intermittent or dead reverse lights. That can fail inspection, hide you from traffic, and disable parking sensors or the rear camera.
If it fails β οΈ
- No lamps in reverse, or lights stuck on
- Blown fuse from internal short
- Flicker when shifting or over bumps
- Moisture or gear oil at the plug
Installation notes
Threads into the factory port; replace the sealing washer, torque to spec, and route the harness away from heat. Apply dielectric grease on the connector. Verify power and ground before condemning wiring.
Fitment & quality β
Built to OE spec for select Toyota models using a case-mounted reversing switch. Precise switching point, corrosion-resistant pins, and long-life spring. Check VIN to confirm compatibility.
