Why you need it ️
The cap is a key part of the EVAP system. It prevents fuel evaporation, protects the charcoal canister, and keeps the Check Engine light off. A good seal saves fuel, reduces emissions, and stops dirt from entering the filler neck.
How it works
Inside is a molded sealing ring, a calibrated pressure/vacuum relief valve, and a secure ratchet lock. When tightened, the gasket seats on the filler neck. The valve balances pressure from heat or altitude changes, so the tank stays safe without venting raw fumes.
