Rear Door Lock Remote Control Cable Assembly (RH/LH)
This cable assembly is needed to connect the rear door handle/lock control to the latch mechanism. It lets your rear door open and lock with a smooth pull, even when the latch sits deep inside the door skin. Without a healthy cable, the handle movement will not reach the latch correctly.
How It Works ⚙️
Inside the housing, a steel inner wire slides back and forth when you pull the handle or operate the lock control. The outer sheath stays fixed, so the force transfers cleanly to the latch lever. Correct length and end fittings keep the travel accurate for both right-hand and left-hand fitment positions.
Signs of Failure & What Happens If It Breaks
When the cable stretches, frays, or snaps, the handle may feel loose, stiff, or do nothing. You can end up with a rear door that won’t open from inside/outside, or a lock that won’t fully engage. Continued use can damage the latch lever, clips, and handle pivots, turning a simple repair into a bigger door hardware job.
