Rear Left Door Lock Assembly
This rear LH door lock unit is a key safety and convenience part that keeps the back door securely latched while you drive. It helps prevent door rattle, accidental opening, and protects your cabin and cargo from theft ️.
Why this part is needed
The latch mechanism is the “grab-and-hold” system between the door and the body striker. Every time the door is closed, it must lock in two stages (safety catch + full latch) to stay tight and aligned. A healthy lock assembly also allows smooth unlocking from the inside handle, outside handle, and central locking system.
How it works
Inside the housing, a rotating claw locks around the striker, while springs return the parts to position. Linkages/cables and the lock actuator move the release lever to open the door. When commanded to lock, the mechanism blocks the release path for secure closure .
What happens if it’s broken
A worn or damaged unit may cause hard closing, door not staying shut, random unlocking, jammed handle, or central lock failure. In severe cases, the door can pop open over bumps—never ignore these symptoms ⚠️.
