Front Left Door Check / Limiter Assembly

This OE-style LH front door stay controls opening travel and holds the door at safe stop points. It prevents overextension, wind slam, and strain on hinges, protecting the fender edge and wiring. Replacing a tired door check restores the solid detent feel, smooth motion, and quiet cabin you expect.

Why this part is needed

Daily use, heavy doors, dust, and moisture wear the strap, rollers, and bushings. A fresh door check strap/stopper brings back repeatable detents and protects bodywork when parking on slopes or in gusty weather. It’s a small part that saves big panels.

How it works ⚙️

A stepped steel arm slides through a compact bracket between the A‑pillar and the door. Spring‑loaded rollers and a friction shoe create distinct detents (ajar, mid, full open). Rubberized bushings damp noise; a corrosion‑resistant coating fights rust. It bolts on with pillar and door fasteners; a dab of lithium grease ensures quiet travel.

What happens if it’s broken ⚠️

Popping or snapping sounds, stiff or jerky movement, and a door that won’t hold position are common. Ignoring it can let the door swing into the fender, stress hinges, crack the check bracket, and damage paint or wiring.

Install tips ✅

Direct fit, no shimming. Support the door, mark bolt positions, torque to spec, and lubricate the arm. Typical swap time: 20–40 minutes with basic hand tools.
