Front Door Check Mechanism — Keep the Door Steady and Safe
This direct-fit door stopper controls how far the front door opens and holds it at set points. It prevents the door from flying in wind, protects hinges and fenders from over-travel, and stops sudden slams. Ideal for Toyota trucks and SUVs, it restores factory feel, reduces noise, and improves daily use and safety.
How It Works ⚙️
An engineered arm slides through a bracket with a spring-loaded cam and detents. As you open the door, the arm clicks gently into positions, giving smooth resistance and positive stops. It bolts to the A‑pillar and door shell. Grease on the track and rollers keeps motion quiet and controlled.
If It’s Worn or Broken ❗
You’ll hear loud clicks, grinding, or popping. The door won’t stay open, may swing wide, or slam shut. Over-travel can bend hinges, crack the mount on the pillar, damage wiring, and chip paint at the edge. Long term, misalignment and seal wear can follow.
Install & Care
Simple bolt-on swap: support the door, remove 2 pillar bolts and 1 door bolt, fit the new unit, torque to spec, and add lithium grease to the track. Check hinge play and latch alignment for best results.
