This OE-grade rear door weatherstrip keeps water, dust, wind, and fumes out of the cargo area. The seal sits on the tailgate flange and compresses evenly when the door closes, maintaining a tight barrier so your interior stays quiet and dry .
Why this part is needed
It prevents leaks, reduces wind noise, stops exhaust intrusion, and protects trims and electronics. A fresh back door seal also keeps the hatch closing smoothly without slamming.
How it works
Made from ozone/UV-resistant EPDM rubber with molded corners, it forms a continuous perimeter seal. An internal spine grips the metal lip; the hollow bulb compresses to absorb body flex while maintaining contact. A low-friction skin helps the door release cleanly even in cold weather ❄️.
What happens if it’s broken
Expect water trails, musty smell, cargo dust, whistle at speed, and paint abrasion on the sill. Long term: carpet rot, latch corrosion, fogged glass, and possible exhaust ingress .
Install tips
Clean the flange, dry-fit, start at center bottom, do not stretch, and seat corners first. Warm the rubber, press with a trim roller, then close the door for 24 hours. A light silicone wipe stops stick–slip.
