Information

Rear Spring Upper Rubber Insulator — Smooth, Quiet Suspension

This upper rubber cushion sits on top of the rear coil spring and isolates the spring from the body. It keeps road shocks, squeaks, and vibration away from the cabin. Built from dense, ozone‑resistant rubber, it restores ride quality and protects metal parts from wear.

Why you need it ️

Over time the factory pad hardens, cracks, or compresses. That leads to clunks, harshness, and uneven spring seating. Replacing it keeps the car stable, quiet, and aligned under load, especially on rough roads or with passengers.

How it works

The insulator centers the coil, spreads load evenly, and dampens micro‑movements between the spring and upper perch. This reduces NVH, prevents metal‑to‑metal contact, and helps the shock and spring operate within design range.

If it’s worn or broken ⚠️

  • Knocking or rubber squeal over bumps
  • Rear end feels jittery or sits uneven
  • Accelerated spring seat and paint wear
  • Premature bushing and shock damage

Tech tips ✅

  • Replace in pairs for balanced ride
  • Inspect spring ends for rust and proper clocking
  • Torque mounts at ride height to avoid bushing preload
