Rear Bumper Side Retainer (Right) ?οΈ
This small but critical mounting retainer is designed to hold the right-hand rear bumper side firmly in position. It is needed whenever the bumper corner feels loose, sits uneven, or after a minor impact where clips and supports often crack before the bumper itself.
How it works βοΈ
The retainer acts like a guided anchor between the bumper cover and the body bracket line. It locks into its mounting points and supports the bumper edge, keeping correct alignment with the quarter panel and rear lamps. This prevents vibration, rubbing, and panel gap changes while driving.
What happens if itβs broken β
If the retainer is damaged or missing, the bumper side may sag, flap at speed, or pop out after bumps. Over time, this can cause paint wear, cracked bumper tabs, rattling noises, and water/dirt entering behind the cover. In worst cases, the bumper corner can detach partially and become unsafe.
Recommended when ?
- Rear bumper corner is loose or misaligned
- After rear-end parking bumps
- Replacing bumper cover or side brackets
Compatibility β
- L300
