Lower Cab Mount Cushion No.3 – Body Mount Bushing
This heavy-duty cab mounting insulator sits between the frame and cabin floor to isolate noise, vibration, and harshness. It stabilizes the body on the chassis, keeps door gaps true, and protects steering and drivetrain angles. A fresh cushion restores smooth ride quality and quiets creaks on your Toyota pickup .
Why you need it ️
Over time rubber hardens, cracks, or compresses. That lowers the cab, causes rattles, and stresses brackets. Replacing this cushion brings back proper cab height, improves NVH, and stops metal-to-metal contact that can lead to corrosion and fatigue.
How it works
The cushion is a resilient elastomer with a steel sleeve that works with the upper insulator and through-bolt. It preloads under torque, absorbs vertical shock, and resists shear during cornering and braking. Correct durometer balances comfort and chassis control.
What happens if it’s broken ⚠️
Expect harsh vibration at idle, cab shudder over bumps, clunks when starting or braking, doors misaligned, steering column angle off, and changing cab–bed gap. Long term, cracked brackets, torn exhaust joints, and damaged fan shroud can follow.
Install tips ✅
Replace in pairs on the same position side-to-side. Tighten bolts at ride height, not on a lifted frame. Inspect bolt, washers, and upper cushion; renew if worn. Re-torque after a short shakedown.
