Hydraulic Suspension Pump Accumulator for AHC
This hydropneumatic unit supports the Active Height Control system by storing energy and smoothing pressure pulses. It keeps lift and damping stable, protects the pump, and gives a comfortable, controlled ride on- and off-road.
Why it’s needed
During height changes and rough terrain, the hydraulic pump sees sharp pressure spikes. The accumulator absorbs these shocks, maintains reserve pressure for quick leveling, reduces noise, and extends pump and valve life.
How it works
Inside a sealed steel sphere, a rubber diaphragm separates nitrogen gas from hydraulic fluid. When the pump raises pressure, fluid compresses the gas, storing energy. When demand rises, the gas expands, sending fluid back to the circuit. Result: steady pressure, fast AHC response, and smoother ride.
If it’s failing ⚠️
Common signs include harsh ride, frequent pump cycling, slow or no height change, clunks over bumps, fluid aeration, and warning messages. Running with a flat or leaking accumulator can overwork the pump and damage seals.
