Rear Subframe Carrier Bushing RH/LH for Toyota compact platforms
This rubberβmetal mount sits between the rear axle carrier (subframe) and the body. It isolates road shock, keeps alignment true, and cuts vibration for a quiet, stable ride . A fresh rear axle carrier bushing restores factory handling, better tire life, and clean braking feel.
Why you need it
Rubber ages, hardens, and cracks. Play appears in the carrier, causing clunks on bumps, rear wiggle on throttle or braking, and feathered tires. Replacing both sides keeps the subframe centered, improves stability control, and reduces cabin noise.
How it works
The outer steel shell is pressed into the carrier; the inner sleeve clamps to the body bolt. A bonded elastomer core flexes in several directions, filtering NVH while holding geometry. It controls rear toe and camber under load, protecting tires, shocks, and wheel bearings.
What happens if itβs bad
When torn, the subframe shifts. Expect knocking, rear-steer feeling, longer stopping distance, uneven wear, and possible ABS/VSC warnings. Driving like this can oval bolt holes and stress other suspension bushes.
Tech tips
Press-fit part: use a hydraulic press and support cups. Align orientation marks, torque at ride height, then do wheel alignment β . Replace in pairs .
