Front Suspension Camber Adjustment Cam (Right/Left) ⚙️
This small but critical suspension hardware is used to fine-tune the camber angle on the front axle. It’s needed when doing a wheel alignment, after replacing control arms, struts, subframe parts, or after a curb impact. Proper camber keeps the tire flat on the road for stable steering and even tread wear.
How It Works
The cam fits into the alignment point on the front suspension. When the bolt is rotated, the cam’s offset shape shifts the mounting position slightly. That tiny movement changes the wheel’s tilt in or out, allowing the technician to dial in factory specs. Once set, it locks in place to hold alignment under braking, cornering, and road vibration.
Why This Part Matters
Common signs of a worn or damaged cam
- Uneven tire wear on the inside or outside edge
- Vehicle pulling left or right
- Steering feels loose after alignment
- Can’t reach correct camber during alignment
If It Breaks or Slips ❗
A failed cam can let the alignment move out of spec. That leads to rapid tire wear, reduced grip in wet turns, longer stopping distance, and annoying steering drift. In severe cases, the bolt may not clamp correctly, creating play in the suspension joint and extra stress on nearby bushings and tires.
