Parking Brake Shoe Assembly RH/Center No.1 ️
This right-hand/center primary handbrake shoe locks the vehicle when parked. It restores firm hold on hills, short lever travel, and quiet operation. Built on a shaped steel shoe with high-friction lining, it’s made for tough commercial duty and consistent bite in wet or dusty conditions.
Why this part is needed
Parking systems on heavy vans and minibuses see high load. With mileage, the lining thins, glazing appears, and stopping force drops. Replacing the shoe returns safe static holding and keeps the drum and cable from overwork.
How it works ⚙️
When you pull the lever, the cable spreads the shoe inside the small parking drum. The lining presses the drum wall, creating friction that holds the wheels. Correct arc, thickness, and compound give stable grip and predictable engagement.
What happens if it’s worn or broken ⚠️
Poor hill-hold, long lever throw, scraping noise, hot spots on the drum, uneven wear, and stretched cable. In extreme cases the vehicle can roll, damaging driveline and risking accidents.
