Steering Rack Dust Boot for Toyota

This protective bellows shields the rack-and-pinion from road grit, water, and salt, keeping steering smooth and precise. It seals the inner tie rod area, holds grease where it’s needed, and helps the rack seals live longer. A healthy boot is cheap insurance for your steering system ️.

Why you need it

Without a tight cover, dirt and moisture invade the rack. That leads to corrosion, worn bushings, fluid contamination, and eventually leaks. The result is heavy steering, uneven tire wear, and costly rack replacement.

How it works

The flexible bellows expands and compresses as you steer, clamped to the rack housing on one side and the inner tie rod on the other. It vents air through the folds while blocking debris, retaining grease, and protecting moving parts .

What happens if it’s broken

Torn rubber, grease splatter on the subframe, wet inner tie rod, clunks over bumps, and inspection failure are common. Continued driving can score the rack teeth and destroy seals, turning a small fix into a big bill .
