Steering Drop Arm for Toyota Land Cruiser

This heavy-duty steering drop arm links the steering gearbox to the drag link, turning your wheel input into precise front-wheel movement. Built for rugged SUVs, it restores solid road feel, straight tracking, and confident control on and off the trail.

Why this part is needed

On large 4x4s, steering loads are high. The arm is the primary lever that transfers force from the sector shaft to the linkage. Wear in the splines or tapered seat creates slack, causing wander, shimmy, and uneven tire wear. Replacing a tired arm brings back tight, predictable steering.

How it works

The arm clamps to the gearboxโ€™s splined sector shaft with a keyed index and lock nut. Its tapered eye accepts the drag link end. As you turn the wheel, the gearbox rotates the shaft; the arm converts this rotation into linear push/pull, moving the linkage and wheels. Forged steel and a precise taper ensure zero slip under load.

What happens if itโ€™s damaged

Signs include clunking over bumps, play at center, off-center steering wheel, pull, or vibration. Severe wear can strip splines or loosen the taperโ€”resulting in sudden loss of steering control โš ๏ธ. Do not delay inspection if these symptoms appear.

Install tips

Clean splines, align index marks, seat the taper dry and new nut to spec, fit a fresh lock washer, then recheck torque after a short drive. Finish with a front-end alignment.
