    Why this part is needed

    Road salt, moisture, and age wear the universal joints and telescoping slip section. When looseness or binding appears, you’ll feel clunks, vibration, or sticky steering. Replacing the shaft restores safety, alignment feel, and straight-line stability.

    How it works

    It links the upper column to the steering gear using precision U-joints and a collapsible, splined slip joint. The design transmits torque, compensates for body flex, and collapses in an impact to enhance occupant safety.

    What happens if it fails ⚠️

    Symptoms escalate from knocks and heavy steering to loss of return-to-center and excessive free play. Ignored long enough, the joint can seize or strip, risking loss of steering input and damage to the column and rack.
