Front Axle Hub Grease Cap β€” Reliable Seal for Wheel Bearings

This small dome cap shields the front hub assembly, locking out water, dust, and road salt while keeping bearing grease where it belongs. It protects the spindle nut and washer, helps maintain correct preload, and extends bearing life. Built to OE shape and depth, it fits left or right side and seats flush for a factory look ️.

How It Works

The cap is a press-fit metal cover with a tight lip that grips the hub bore. Once tapped in evenly, it creates a dust and splash barrier so grease cannot migrate out and contaminants cannot get in. The result is smoother rotation, stable temperature, and long service intervals on tough roads .

When It’s Damaged or Missing ⚠️

Expect grease washout, bearing noise (growl/rumble), heat discoloration of the rotor, free play at the wheel, and possible bearing seizure. Moisture intrusion can pit races, corrode the spindle nut, and lead to ABS tone ring contamination on some setups. A loose or dented cap should be replaced immediately.

Fitment and Install Tips

Clean the hub bore, add a light smear of grease on the cap lip, and drive it in square with a soft mallet and suitable driver. Do not deform the dome. Verify bearing adjustment per service manual after seating.
