Front Right Lower Ball Joint Assembly

This suspension joint is needed to keep the front wheel firmly connected to the control arm while still allowing smooth steering and up-down suspension travel. It carries heavy load every time you brake, corner, or hit a bump, so a tight, well-greased joint is critical for safe handling.

How It Works βš™οΈ

Inside the housing, a hardened ball stud pivots in a lined socket. This design lets the steering knuckle turn left/right and move vertically with the suspension. A sealed boot holds grease in and dirt/water out, preventing fast wear and keeping motion silent and precise.

When It’s Worn or Broken

A failing joint can cause clunking over bumps, wandering steering, uneven tire wear, and vibration. If it gets too loose, wheel alignment won’t hold and braking stability drops. In severe cases the stud can separate, leading to sudden loss of wheel controlβ€”do not ignore play or a torn boot.

Key Signs to Replace βœ…

  • Knocking sound on rough roads
  • Loose steering feel
  • Visible boot damage or grease leakage
  • Rapid inner/outer tire wear
