Information

Rear axle bearing spacer for tough Nissan drivetrains

This precision ring sits in the rear hub assembly and sets the correct preload for the wheel bearing. By fixing the distance between bearing races and the axle shaft shoulder, it locks in alignment, keeps the differential happy, and makes the hub run cool and quiet. Built from hardened steel, it resists crush and keeps geometry stable under heavy loads and off-road shocks .

Why it’s needed

Correct preload means less friction, less noise, and long bearing life. It protects seals, prevents axle wobble, and keeps brake components and ABS tone rings tracking true. Ideal when renewing bearings, seals, or after axle service.

How it works

During assembly, the spacer defines axial clearance as the retainer/nut is torqued. The set thickness holds the bearing at the sweet spot—tight enough for strength, free enough for smooth rotation.

If it’s worn or damaged ⚠️

Expect humming or grinding at speed, hot hub, uneven pad/shoe wear, leaking seals, and play at the wheel. Continued use can pit bearings, chew the axle shaft, and send metal into the diff—costly repairs.

Tech tips

Always measure end play with a dial indicator, replace deformed spacers, torque to spec, and use quality bearings and seals to match.
