Information

Inner Retainer for Rear Axle Bearing (RH/LH) – Toyota 4x4 Ready ⚙️

This hardened steel collar secures the rear axle bearing on the shaft, locking the hub in precise alignment and protecting the seal seat. Built for heavy loads and rough roads, it keeps your Toyota’s rear end quiet, straight, and leak-free.

Why this part is needed ️

It holds the bearing in the correct position, maintains preload, and prevents axial movement of the axle shaft. Without it, wheel stability, braking, and seal life suffer—critical for towing and off‑road use.

How it works

The retainer is press-fitted behind the bearing. Its interference grip clamps the bearing to the shaft and forms a smooth sealing surface for the oil seal. Both right and left sides use the same style collar, installed with correct orientation and depth.

What happens if it’s damaged or loose ⚠️

Expect humming from the rear, oil/grease leak at the axle tube, wheel play, brake contamination, uneven tire wear, and in severe cases axle walk, lock-up, or wheel separation. Never reuse a removed collar—replace with the bearing and seal as a set.

Tech tips ✅

Press on squarely; do not hammer. Heat the collar if specified; cool the shaft. Inspect shaft journal and backing plate. Replace side seals and check ABS tone ring alignment.
