Inner Bearing Retainer for Rear Axle β€” Toyota Genuine

This precision collar secures the rear wheel bearing on the axle shaft, keeping the hub assembly tight and aligned on either right or left side. It’s engineered to lock the inner race in place, protect the oil seal, and maintain correct preload for quiet, smooth rotation.

Why you need it βœ…

Without a strong retainer ring, the bearing can creep on the shaft, causing play, heat, and rapid wear. This part ensures the bearing stays seated against the axle shoulder, preserving ride stability, brake performance, and seal life.

How it works

The hardened steel ring is press-fitted on the inner side of the rear hub bearing. Its interference fit clamps the bearing securely, preventing axial movement and micro-slip. It centers the seal lip and supports radial and thrust loads under daily driving.

What happens if it’s damaged ⚠️

Symptoms include humming or grinding, wheel wobble, grease or gear oil leaks, hot hub, uneven brake wear, and in extreme cases, bearing collapse or axle/hub scoring.

Build & fitment

OEM-grade steel, heat-treated and corrosion protected. Exact dimensions for Toyota rear axles; usable on RH or LH positions.

Installation notes

Press-fit onlyβ€”do not hammer. Replace whenever the bearing is serviced. Observe chamfer orientation, use a new seal, and torque related fasteners to factory spec.
