Front Differential Lock Shift Fork
This precision shift fork is a key piece inside the front differential locking system. It is needed to engage or disengage the front diff lock, helping the 4WD drivetrain deliver equal drive to both front wheels when traction is low οΈ.
How It Works
When you activate the diff lock, the actuator moves a shaft/selector. The shift fork rides in a groove and slides the locking sleeve into position. Once aligned, the differential locks and torque is shared evenly, improving control on mud, rocks, and deep sand.
Why Replacement Matters
A worn or bent fork canβt move the sleeve correctly. That causes partial engagement, slow locking, or no lock at all. In severe cases it may grind, overheat the sleeve, or damage internal gears.
Signs of a Faulty Fork
- Diff lock light flashing or not confirming
- Clicking/grinding during engagement
- Lock works only sometimes
